Denim

Four denim pieces
Three of them will be staying in circulation for spring

Denim is the ultimate, for versatility!

Light wash button front skirt-
I see this skirt mixing well with my spring pieces, too.

Flares, with a 70's vibe, in a dark wash.  The 70's trend is still going strong, so I may haul out a pair of vintage flares, in a lighter wash for spring.  I think I'll pack these.

 Skinnies
Although wide leg full, and wide leg cropped pants are big for spring, and I will surely try them, I hope skinnies will remain a staple.  I don't see women giving them up easily, and these will be staying for spring.

Lastly, a cropped jacket. A denim jacket is season-less, and I can see lots of light layering  possibilities for this one, this spring.

A surprise at Sears

Normally, I go to Sears for tools. And appliances.  The Sears closest to me is a small one, and it doesn't have an actual dress department.  So, I was surprised to find that a display of cute dresses popped up, the last time I was there.  I think they may be special spring and Easter stock.

I found this lively paisley print

and dots with a flounce

An asymmetrical hem floral

and rose quartz with black lace

More rose quartz this time with navy stripes

Blue floral with a deep flounce hem

And this pretty rose quartz bow blouse

Heavy on the Pantone color rose quartz and shades of blue, as you can see.

I liked all of these, and couldn't make a decision on one, as most of my spring wardrobe is still packed, and I am always surprised when I bring the boxes out, at see what I already have.

I  do have an outfit picked out for Easter, (with sleeves, as it is highly unlikely to be sleeveless weather in a few short weeks).
The graphic pink and navy stripe, or the floral with the asymmetrical hem are my favorites!

I love a good houndstooth!

Spring is just around the corner, (in theory, anyway)!

It's foggy, rainy, windy, and in the 40's, here in coastal Maryland.  So today, I'm wearing one of my favorite prints, a houndstooth check.  This wool jumper, with sort of a 60's vibe, will soon be packed up with my fall and winter things, but with today's uncooperative weather, it's fitting.

This blouse is an oversized houndstooth print, though barely recognizable as such.
It's lightweight and short sleeved, so it has springtime possibilities.

I used this houndstooth plaid bag a few times, over the season.
I'm debating this one. (Pack it, let it go, pack it, let it go...)

A classic bold black and white check. I chose it fairly often, so it's a keeper.

I even have a stamped houndstooth bangle.  I like it, I wore it, so it stays.

These two houndstooth check skirts languished in the back of my closet all season.  I think I will give them a chance to come out this spring, as they are lighter knits.

Mini black and white check

Light and dark grey, and flouncy, I'm thinking of mixing this one with pink, maybe?

The decisions continue.  My spring clothes are coming out of the basement this weekend, even if I'm not quite ready to wear them.  I need to pull them all out, now, to see what I have to work with for this season.  It will be fun, and it with be a mess!

Tall boots

I'm starting to look back on the fall and winter season, to determine which items in my closet were  worn, and which ones were overlooked.
I wore my short boots pretty regularly, this season, but my tall boots only made it out of the closet a few times.

I only wore these fringed boots once all winter

And these vintage navy suede boots were only pulled out of the closet once, as well.

I have a very modest collection of boots, and although I do not wear them often, it's nice to have them as an option, when the mood strikes me!

Black and white with red

Black, white and red, is one of my "go to" color combinations.

Black and white makes for easy pattern mixing,  for those of us who are not pros at it!

A more subtle pattern mix, and a darker shade of red

Also black and white, and in this case grey, are an easy choice for adding a pop of color with accessories

Whenever I am at a loss, or rushed, I'll probably turn up in some combination of black and white and red!

Haunting the Goodwill, again

I've been shopping at the Goodwill, again.  I try to go once a week, if possible.  It's become one of my favorite haunts.  Some of the employees and the managers even know me there, which I love!  They don't mind seeing me regularly.  I think it has something to do with the fact that I hang things back up that have slipped to the floor, and make sure I leave the dressing room tidy.  It's the little things that count.

Here are some pieces I liked, but they were not quite the right fit, for me.  Better luck next time.  It's like that, you just never know what you'll find!

A couple of great layer-able pieces.  Even though it appeared to fit,  I could not lift my arms, in this jacket. Sigh.

Anything oversized is probably going to swallow me up, but I had to try.  Once in a while, something about the cut will just work, but not this time.

Cozy texture

I love cardigans, and am always on the lookout for a good one.  However,  I must figure out how to style the sequined one I already have, before I buy another one, no matter how tempting!

I love a swingy skirt with a flippy hem, but, alas, a bit to tight.

I usually find something to bring home, even if the clothes don't quite fit.  This week it was a blue star shaped baking dish.  I have an idea about using it as a planter.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Whole lot of color!

These are a few of the brightest and most vibrant colors in the general pink and orange family, in my wardrobe.

The top half of this first dress is a sleeveless tank style, in a burgundy color.  It just happened that I had a long sleeve top that is a pretty good match to layer underneath.  The skirt is definitely the main attraction.

Another wear, with a fuchsia cardigan layered overtop.

A solid eye popping bright pink pullover sweater, with a pink bag to match.  To cheer up any grey and dismal day.

And more fushsia

I have been gravitating toward these colors, lately. I guess to try to beat the winter doldrums!

Thankfully the groundhog did not see his shadow when he came out of his burrow, this morning, so  an early spring is predicted.  We'll see.  I hope so!
