Marshall's shop

I have been  hunting for white pieces to add to my Summer wardrobe.  Even though it is cool and stormy today, the hot temperatures are sure to follow.  Lightweight fabrics, in light colors are a great way to stay comfortable in Summer. There are lots of choices at Marshall's, if you can look past the wrinkles!

Tops:
  Eyelet

Border embroidery

Lace yoke

Soutache.
Love this one, but there was only one in the store, and not in my size :(

Other possibilities in white:
  A sharp jacket,

a white lace skirt,

and a great white lace-up shift!

I also tried on these summery blue and white jackets

Cute cropped one

Love this nautical striped dress, but I digress, and must step back to my shopping list.

I  have also had my eye out for military style pieces that do not have army green on the top.  This is a nice choice if olive green does not agree with your skin tone.

A compromise-olive on the bottom.

Some possibilities to think about.  Some definite maybes. I came home with this great navy blue grommeted skirt.  I may not be wearing it until Fall, unless I can slip it in during the next few weeks, but no question about it, I had to have it!

Versatile denim

I love denim.  Dress it up, dress it down-it can go just about anywhere.  One reason for it's versatility, is that there are so many styles to chose from.  Another, is there are a lot of different washes, too.  And that's just in traditional blue!

Spring sandals

Decisions, decisions.  I'm back at DSW, and I could kick myself with one of these cute shoes for letting my $20 off coupon expire!

Anyway, I love these sandals with the ankle bling.  The wedge heel is a nice walkable height, too.

I have found so many pairs of cute platform sandals to love this Spring!  While I want the platforms,  my wardrobe is somewhat lagging behind, and isn't full of the clothing styles that platforms really look great with.  I'm thinking longer hemlines, Boho styles, and the elusive, perfect cropped jeans and pants.  I'll find a way to work the platforms in, though!  Both of the pairs below have the added bonus of feeling wonderful on my feet.

Below are my favorites.
They come in three colors, plus white.  I like them all, but if I have to pick one, I'm craving denim!

Aside from platform love, this strappy wedge gladiator would go with almost everything in my current closet, and is a great light neutral for warm weather.  Plus, walkability!

I like these lace ups styles, but I have a wedge heel pair, so I can resist.

Shoe choosing is a dilemma when there is a big shift in fashion, like this Spring. There are a lot of new shapes and lengths in clothing that may become new classics, or may be in and out in one or two seasons.  Time will tell!

Rose quartz

Rose quartz pants, three (not so different) ways

with striped cardigan and flats

with ivory pullover and matching blush heels

with printed floral cardigan and chunky low heel sandals

Here's a cute blush floral print top I debated purchasing at Old Navy.  Since I didn't buy it, a half dozen ways to wear it occurred to me, once I was standing it front of my closet.  Isn't that the way it goes?

Things leaving my closet

I'm not actively doing a closet clean-out right now, but I am evaluating my spring and summer things as they come out of storage, and into my closet. I've also decided not to pack a few things that were not wore, or barely wore over the fall and winter.  I took these to the thrift shop, and saw some of my cast-off shoes on the rack there, this week.  What a funny feeling!

I hope they find a good home!

Once spring is in full swing, (meaning the weather is mild enough to actually wear seasonal outfits on a regular basis), I think a bigger purge is in order.  I don't follow the advise of some experts who advise tossing out everything you haven't worn in the last 6 months to a year.  Way too rash for me!  Sometimes, an item I like is just not fitting in, and it hangs in my closet all season, only to be brought out next season, and be in rotation, again.  Sometimes this is due to the addition of a new piece it can be worn with, or a new, fresh way to mix it is born.
