Autumnal colors for Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving week to everyone
I hope you all have a joyful and safe holiday!

This post is a celebration of the colors of the seasons

First, a bit of red and tan on a full skirted sleeveless dress
in a big, splashy stylized floral print
Worn under an ivory 3/4 sleeve cropped cardigan sweater

A brown, tan and ivory dot pattern oblong scarf
to accessorize in a seasonal color

For jewelry, I'm wearing a rose gold tone bow bracelet
and gold tone wreath earrings

Carrying a red quilted heart shaped bag
since love is in style all year long!

Tan D'Orsey pumps to finish this festive outfit

I have been reaching for my scarves even more often than usual this season

When I was putting this post together, I noticed the similar colored scarves
both tied in bows on these first two outfits
If it works, it's worth being on repeat!

This next casual outfit features a lot of brown tones
which are perfect for the season, though not so abundant in my wardrobe
Most of my brown clothing is here in this post!

The popularity of brown hues this year
gave me a little push to create outfits with a few things I have
that only get occasional wear

Brown short sleeve sweater with brown and tan check
tuxedo stripe cropped trousers

This time, I'm wearing a vintage scarf with a
mixed animal print and diamond pattern border

Carrying a rusty tan circle shaped handle bag
This purse also has a detachable strap to convert to a cross body style

For jewelry I chose
bold gold tone heart shaped earrings and a sculptural hinged cuff bracelet
I tend to wear my gold tone jewelry lot more in autumn

For shoes, rust brown suede vintage lace ups with low heels
This is one of the very few pairs of vintage shoes I have
These are reasonably comfortable, but a little stiff

I guess I was feeling a bit nostalgic this holiday week,
as I pulled out quite a few vintage pieces on these outfits

This last dress is a 70's vintage wrap style in brown and orange geometric print
Layering a lightweight brown sleeveless sweater underneath
since the dress is a little low and gaps
I don't wear it very often, but it's a classic keeper!

Faux tortoise box clutch

Fifties vintage tortoise shell expandable cuff bracelet
with modern design gold tone choker necklace and
faux tortoise disc earrings for matchy-matchy all the way!

Worn with a gold tone horse bit brown leather belt

Low heeled pumps with little bit shaped buckle detail

Some pretty autumn color in nature

Thanks for stopping by!

Pantone's Princess Blue

I love all shades of blue, and am glad to see one of Pantone's color picks
for this spring is Princess Blue
Princess Blue is a deep, rich and bright shade, a new name for royal blue!

This first outfit is made up of two pieces that have both
been in my wardrobe for over five years
The sleeveless fit and flare dress was called royal blue back when I purchased it

The cardigan, with it's stripes and flowers in shades of blue and green
pre-dates the current trend of mixing these two prints
Think twice before you "Kondo" classic pieces out of your closet
because what goes around, comes back around!

For jewelry, I wore a muted gold tone choker necklace
and wreath stud earrings

Green tooled leather beat and a blue-green round handle bag to accessorize

Two-toned reptile embossed sling back Mary Janes complete this look

Next, two more classic pieces that pre date the Princess Blue title
so I'll just call them royal
The shirt is a graphic circle print in royal, navy and white
and the pencil skirt is, well, really blue!

Accessorizing with yellow oval enamel cuff bracelet
and blue faceted glass stud earrings

Carrying my vintage 1960's yellow box bag

Nude pumps to finish the look

Lastly, a short sleeve print wrap dress featuring the blue hue of the moment,

along with red, pink, white and black

Shiny silver tone disc necklace
and a heart charm link bracelet

Featuring another of my favorite 1960's vintage box bags
this one in red vinyl

I finally unpacked my spring and summer shoes and am delighted
to put these red and white striped espadrilles back in rotation

Hope everyone is enjoying technicolor spring blooms
in your corner of the world!
