Vests are a fun and versatile layering option,
and I have been playing with styling them throughout the seasons,
since they started trending in 2021
This post features two outfits with knit vests I have been wearing lately
a vest is a good option for the current "in between the seasons" time
At this time of year I am wearing pieces of my winter wardrobe for the last time,
before packing them away for the season
These two sweater vests are season spanners though,
so they will remain in my closet for a few more months
They are both possibilities to wear alone,
and to remix with some of my spring pieces when they come out of storage!
All shades of pinks are currently trending,
thanks to Barbiecore and Pantone's picks for this year
I am very happy, because I love the color!
My first outfit features a lightweight cropped sweater vest in pastel pink,
with a vertical baby cable design and a V neckline
For this wear, I am layering it over a black and white beetle bug print blouse
with black straight leg tailored trousers
Honestly, I am a bit baffled 😕 about what type of pants to wear, right now
There are so many shapes and proportions out there-
I feel like the classics are always a safe bet!
I chose simple gold tone jewelry to accessorize
It is striking how different these two pieces are in shades of "gold"
The bracelet is modern and subdued, while the earrings are vintage,
and a very bold yellow gold!
A recent purchase is this cognac brown and snake print handle bag
I wasn't really sure how I would wear it when I bought it last year
in the middle of the summer
I thought it would be nice for fall and winter
but it translates into spring transition season well
It is the perfect size for me, and a favorite shape
it turned out these cognac woven slides are a nice pairing with the bag
Another outfit featuring a season spanning vest
Pantone has come out with quite an array of
rich and saturated colors lately
Autumn's Tiger Orange has morphed into Tangelo for spring,
and promises to be a really big fashion color
I don't generally wear much orange
but the cooler, pinkish hue of this vest called out to me
It is a very soft, loose and lofty knit
I wore this vest back in the fall, on my Halloween post styled differently
This time, for a winter to spring look,
I paired it up with an ivory semi sheer bow blouse layered underneath
and with a dark brown flared skirt
This cute owl pendant is silver plated and vintage, from the 70's
Also accessorizing with silver tone star stud earrings
I haven't used this bag in a while,
but the time seems right to pull it out of the closet
The satchel style seems perfect for the outfit
All together, this look has a bit of a Preppy, collegiate vibe
that is making me feel nostalgic for school days!
First daffodils of the season-so glad to see a sign of the coming spring!
Hope everyone enjoys their week!
A sweater vest over a lighter weight blouse is a great choice for seasonal transitions. We're not quite there yet, but I look forward to it. Love the owl pendant!
ReplyDeleteHi Di!
ReplyDeleteI used to have sweater vests when I was younger, now I have a few tailored ones. Love the colors here that you chose and those teal loafers are beautiful.
Really love the details.
Have a great week!

Vests are great light layers for those spring transitional outfits! I love these vests on you! You are a layering queen!
ReplyDeleteI've been enjoying the vest trend, I remember when they were huge in the 70s! My favorite is your pink look. Unfortunately we're having a very cold snap this week so no chance of transitional dressing yet! Thanks for linking
ReplyDeleteYou wear these vests so well it's hard to pick a favourite outfit! I always love a splash of orange but the print mixing in the first outfit with the pink vest is so fun too! Both great outfits, and nice ways to layer up a little before the weather warms up.
ReplyDeleteThanks for joining the Weekday Wear Link up :)
