Hello, and thanks for stopping by my blog
To all of the moms out there, I hope you had a Happy Mother's Day!
Also, Mother's Day is the perfect day to celebrate all of the women
who are the nurturers and caretakers of our families
that make the world a better place to be!
The topic for today: Fruit prints π π π
I love these, because they are unusual and conversation starters
My first fruit print is on a skirt and is vintage, from the 1950's
It is a wild color way, which was very fashionable, and a mark of the 50's,
in turquoise, pink, acid yellow and black
It is a little difficult to make out while wearing it, because the print is so large and abstract,
but various types of fruit are in among wine bottles
I decided to go all out and wear this special skirt in a classic retro way
with a pink cropped knit vest over a Peter Pan collar white blouse
This vest has become a favorite
and I have styled it several times on the blog this past fall and winter
Wearing a pink 50's fashion girls print scarf in my hair
Accessorizing with a few pieces of classic gold tone jewelry-
a pendant disc necklace, love knot bracelet and ball stud earrings
Peep toe low wedge sling backs with buckle design
to finish this outfit
Next, a new dress by Betsy Johnson,
in cool aqua with a riotous over all print
of bright red strawberries π
This dress has lots of pretty, feminine details,
like tiny ruffles around the neckline and tulip sleeves,
and a fitted high waist and deep ruffled hem
Carrying my 1960's vintage white wicker bag
with the plastic see through panel that shows the vibrant colorful lining
Sweet gold tone jewelry
with large heart shaped earrings, a bow motif bracelet
and the same disc necklace as my first outfit
This dress seemed the perfect opportunity
to wear my red and white striped, red ribboned espadrilles
Hope you enjoyed this fun post as much as I enjoyed wearing these outfits
Have a good week!
Two very different prints, but both are very cute! The print in the first outfit is fascinating because it looks like a piece of modern art, and it works so well with that pink vest.
ReplyDeleteEach of these looks is fabulous. Thanks for sharing your styling ideas.

Fruit prints are making a huge comeback this spring/summer too. These are both really lovely outfits.
ReplyDeleteThey are both such lovely prints, while they are so different! I really like the pastel pink you wore with the skirt in the first outfit, you just accessorised that skirt so well :)

I ADORE fruit designs and cherries are my favourite. I love your cherry dress with the cute espadrilles. And the vintage print from the 50s! Well my heart is beating faster. A sophisticated subtle fruit print. Thanks for linking and have a good weekend.
ReplyDeletePretty prints, you wear them well. Thanks for sharing on the linkup. Jacqui x
