Hello, and thanks for stopping by my blog!
The suiting trend has been going strong for several years now
I remember it really took off in mainstream fashion the fall before last,
with bold shouldered and brightly colored monochrome two piece suits
Blazers are now being paired with mini skirts, midi skirts,
and both wide leg and slim trousers
Over the summer the trend morphed with the season and we saw
shorts suits in dazzling colors and lots of really cute and creative matching two piece sets
This fall the tailored suiting trend continues
with lots of blazers and tailored looks in general
I am noticing muted colors and neutrals in the mix
along with the gorgeous bright colors of the previous seasons
I am also seeing a lot or mixing and matching of separates and color blocking
Here are two of my interpretations of this trend
I am glad to see some more structured looks
appearing on the fashion front
How about you, are you a fan of the suiting trend?
My first outfit this week is a cropped camel color blazer over a long midi skirt
The skirt is a silky jewel tone paisley print fabric with camel tan in the color mix
Layering the jacket over a black tank top
For jewelry, I thought bronze tone complimented the winter outfit
Wearing a wide cuff bracelet with applied design,
a bronze tone 3-D triangular link necklace
and gold tone square post earrings
Some more accessories,
a wise black leather belt wore over the jacket,
and a jewel tone velvet hair band
Carrying a vintage hard shell reptile embossed envelope clutch in taupe
Taupe suede cross strap block heel pumps
to finish the outfit
My first outfits was a short jacket over a long skirt,
this second look is a long blazer over a short skirt
It is made up of two neutrals, black and white
with a slightly oversized, double breasted blazer
with a jacket in one of the Pantone colors for fall, called Persian Blue
Named for the precious stone Lapis Lazuli,
I don't think I am very inspired by it when translated to this jacket on me
I will have to try again
Worn with a white ribbed mock neck top
and a black skirt with a deep flounced hem
For jewelry, I chose a silver tone hinged collar necklace,
multi band open cuff bracelet and loop design earrings
Carrying a black and white plaid circular buckle detail bag,
with black block heel tailored bow sling backs to finish the look
Roger's Winnie the Pooh in the rain tie
coordinates with my outfit
He loves to match what I am wearing,
and will produce a tie in coordinating colors every time!
The umbrella is a very appropriate design,
as we have had a mild but very wet fall and winter-
not much snow but goops an goops of rain! 🌧☔️
Hope everyone enjoys there week!
I love the mix of rich neutrals and jewel tones in the first outfit. The Persian blue blazer is a very pretty color, almost a neutral itself but with more oomph. The Winnie the Pooh tie is so cute!
ReplyDeleteYou are always styled so lovely Di! Each accessory picked to perfection! I love the warm tones and also the varying lengths of the blazers, that little circle bag is darling! So glad to see both of you and the Winnie the Poo Tie is cute! I am a fan of structured and suited looks, blazers are a bit of an obsession!
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!

ReplyDeleteDi, I am a big fan of the suiting trend and your two looks. Love how you changed the proportions. Belting the blazer in your first outfit looks so good. I need to try that, haven't yet because I don't have much of a waist. So sweet that your husband likes to coordinate with you!

ReplyDeleteTwo great looks showing a welcome return to more fitted fashion! I love the belted jacket. I could give a new lease of life to my black jacket, formerly worn at work. I like the Persian blue color. The bag is very cute. And the Winnie the Pooh tie is brilliant! Have a great week.
ReplyDeleteI love the structured, belted blazer with the skirt, it's a fabulous combination. I'm a big fan of tailoring, particularly blazers. Thanks for linking!
