Bell sleeves for fall

The bell sleeve trend is still on for fall and winter
At the end of the summer season, I was curious to see if this style
would continue to be popular, as it is a little tricky to layer.
The cold shoulder top is also a cold weather conundrum!
I wondered what would become of it at the onset of the colder months,
but it has adapted, and cleverly morphed into a sweater

Anyway, the first dress I'm wearing has sheer bell sleeves with bows at the elbow
Fine for fall, but I will probably be putting this one away soon

The thing I like best about this dress by Lauren Conrad
is the magical unicorn and garden print

Worn with a tan faux woven box clutch, large gold tone hummingbird pendant
and gold tone hammered stud earrings

Metallic bronze T-straps to finish the look

Next, is an ivory lace blouse with a gentle bell sleeve, worn over a matching camisole
I wore olive and ivory mini check cropped trousers with it

A pink, wine and sand color block top handle bag with gold tone 1960's vintage
reticulated leaf pendant and gold tone front to back geometric earings

Wine strappy sandals to complete the look

This moth print blouse from Top Shop has big floppy bows above the elbows,
I love my bows!
Worn with a canvas colored flared midi skirt

Metallic pewter kitty ear bag, and pale blue flower shaped earrings

Pewter peep toes with gold block heels

I think it is about time for me to put away my sandals until spring,
the temperatures are slowly becoming too chilly for open toes,
and we had our first snow this weekend!

Things leaving my closet this fall

I have been adding to this post for several months now, since the end of summer!
The garments are a mixed bag of seasons, with some of the items edited
even before I switched to my fall and winter wardrobe
I plan to continue to edit with a vengeance in 2018,
and wear or recycle all those things resting peacefully in the back of my closet,
not getting any love.  I have been holding onto a lot over the past several years
I have a new mind set now, and really want to circulate the things that I no longer wear
I have started a Poshmark closet, and opened an account with a consignment shop
for motivation, and of course I will be donating to charity, as well

These first two skirts are vintage, and though they are pretty outstanding
I don't wear them, often and I they deserve to be seen!

1970's wrap with a block print forest scene

Amazing hand painted and embroidered maxi wrap

A colorful maxi I don't wear,

and a denim skirt that is too snug

I have enjoyed wearing these next three dresses but they are not the most flattering
on me,  so on to someone who will rock them!

I edited out a lot of tops and blouses mostly because I pass them over for ones I like better,
feel more comfortable in, and fit better

Boxy tops are hard for me to wear

and I rarely wear collared shirts

These are all nice and versatile prints, I'm just tired mixing the matching them!

I rarely wear long tops or tunics these days

I recently wore this lightweight sweater for the last time on the blog

This sweater already has a new home-
it is a fun layering piece under a vest

This is a beautiful color, but another rarely worn tunic length

This is cute for someone who wears the boxy look well

That's all for now, a pretty major cut for me
Starting in January I will be remixing from the back of my closet like crazy!

Wine and roses dress three ways

I like to keep the flowers going all year 'round!
This dark floral dress with a giant rose print works pretty much in any season.
Here are three ways I layered it up for fall

First, with a lightweight 3/4 sleeve crochet cardigan
that picks up the deep wine color in the print

I choose a belt in a similar wine tone,
and black tie heels with a black shiny patent bag to accessorize

Silver tone sparkly heart link bracelet and rhinestone bird post earrings for jewelry

This time, I layered a sheer black blouse under the dress,

and picked a large gold tone hummingbird pendant and little bird earrings for jewelry
Birds and flower just seem to go together!

Lastly, to lighten it up a little, I wore the dress with an ivory sweater jacket over it
I can't believe I choose the same wine belt all three times!

I brought out some vintage accessories this time
My grey 1960's buckle detail bag, and vintage amethyst color rectangular earrings
Gold tone bow bracelet to finish

This dress has gotten a lot of wear this fall!

Bags, shoes and boots, oh my!

There is an absolute feast of stand-out bags, shoes and boots out now!
So many wonderful colors and luxurious textures and details to choose from
I wandered the aisles of DSW and found  pretty much everything
but what I am actually looking for.  On my wish list are
some comfortable, moderate heels to elevate and breathe new life into some of the outfits
that already exist in my closet.

First, I detoured into the handbags which are right up front.  Lured in by all the pink!

Betsey Johnson does pink and bling so well.  I love this cute
top handle bag with a big pink studded bow, flowers and song birds-all on one

The luxurious embroidery on this classic shape in a muted color pallet also caught my eye

I saw a really cute fur mini backpack in blush pink,

and a bright screaming pink one, complete with lucky charm decorations!

Floral embroidery was everywhere, like on this casual chain strap shoulder bag,

and these elegant evening clutches

On to the shoes

Of course, I had to take a quick look at the fancy dress shoes
This cut out sandal is so pretty.  It almost looks like it could take flight!

An here's more golden glamor in a shiny double strap sandal

These are way too high for me, but I love the big heel bow and the soft lilac color

I spotted these black and white satin brocade ankle straps, that are more in line
with what I'm looking for.  They have a much more reasonable heel, and so pretty!

Also love these adorable low heel floral shoes
with an unusual pleated ribbon on the asymmetrical strap

Next are two outfit making block heel styles I really like
More flowers, on a sling back Mary Jane ankle strap,

and suede color blocking, also with two sets of straps,
an interesting new trend

This is a fun shoe-a denim rose embroidered pump with a pointed toe

I shouldn't even be looking at these-I already have Leopard print pumps!

Here's a very elegant neutral suede color block pump

I also saw some great low heel options

A pearl heel loafer-pearls are showing up everywhere!

A shiny metallic loafer slide

and more shine.  This time in a patent leather loafer in popping colors

A cute little multi colored Mary Jane

A shoe-boot hybrid in a wild animal print

and lots of great block heel booties!

Lush red velvet with a zip front,

denim cowgirl boots with multi colored embroidered flowers,

and a wild paisley.  So 70's!

Lastly, there were some pretty blinged out sneakers

I like this celestial print

and these pink flower-power slip ons

Glitter sneakers

and starbursts of sequins in tone on tone blush

These are my favorites-how cute are these for the dog lover?
Little puppy faces for your feet!

So many choices it makes my head spin!
