Winter Polka Dots

Hello and thanks for stopping by my blog today!

I chose two outfits featuring polka dots for the week's post,
because I feel like this pattern always lifts my spirits-
and who doesn't need a little lift at the end of winter!
Why is it that most of the polka dot patterns are seen on spring and summer clothing?
We could really use more of this cheerful print during the cold weather months,
don't you think?

My first outfit is in a favorite winter color combination, red, white and black
I usually wear this large black and white jacquard knit jacket
for fall and winter because of it's substantial weight and warmth
Worn today with a white ribbed mock neck top
and black ribbed skirt that has a feminine narrow ruffled hem

Carrying a red woven leather satchel style handle bag

For jewelry, I chose a banded silver tone open cuff bracelet,
chunky textured hoop earrings
and a special vintage pendant necklace from the sixties
The necklace is a 3-D red enameled apple half, with a little lucky ladybug on it,
and a leaf encrusted with green rhinestones-
so whimsical and colorful!

Black suede block heel sling backs with tuxedo bows
to finish the look

Rarely do I wear a mini dress-only once in a blue moon!
This one is the perfect way to showcase these lively navy blue tights
with giant polka dots on them, to brighten up the end of winter doldrums
I wear blue quite often, and love this dress's two tone design
Everything is perfect about it, but the length
It is such a soft and flowing fabric, that I might try wearing it over a skirt,
or maybe with pants, or as a tunic next time

Accessorizing with a cheeky pink enamel camera necklace
and fuchsia irregular shaped stone earrings

Carrying a bright pink clutch bag
It has a detachable chain cross body strap tucked inside,
and I sometimes wear it that way, too

Low kitten heel sling backs to finish this fun look

Hope you all enjoy your week!

Trail Blazer

Hello, and thanks for stopping by my blog!

The suiting trend has been going strong for several years now
I remember it really took off in mainstream fashion the fall before last,
with bold shouldered and brightly colored monochrome two piece suits
Blazers are now being paired with mini skirts, midi skirts,
and both wide leg and slim trousers
Over the summer the trend morphed with the season and we saw
shorts suits in dazzling colors and lots of really cute and creative matching two piece sets

This fall the tailored suiting trend continues
with lots of blazers and tailored looks in general
I am noticing muted colors and neutrals in the mix
along with the gorgeous bright colors of the previous seasons
I am also seeing a lot or mixing and matching of separates and color blocking
Here are two of my interpretations of this trend
I am glad to see some more structured looks
appearing on the fashion front
How about you, are you a fan of the suiting trend?

My first outfit this week is a cropped camel color blazer over a long midi skirt
The skirt is a silky jewel tone paisley print fabric with camel tan in the color mix

Layering the jacket over a black tank top

For jewelry, I thought bronze tone complimented the winter outfit
Wearing a wide cuff bracelet with applied design,
a bronze tone 3-D triangular link necklace
and gold tone square post earrings

Some more accessories,
a wise black leather belt wore over the jacket,
and a jewel tone velvet hair band

Carrying a  vintage hard shell reptile embossed envelope clutch in taupe

Taupe suede cross strap block heel pumps
to finish the outfit

My first outfits was a short jacket over a long skirt,
this second look is a long blazer over a short skirt
It is made up of two neutrals, black and white
with a slightly oversized, double breasted blazer
with a jacket in one of the Pantone colors for fall, called Persian Blue
Named for the precious stone Lapis Lazuli,
I don't think I am very inspired by it when translated to this jacket on me
I will have to try again
Worn with a white ribbed mock neck top
and a black skirt with a deep flounced hem

For jewelry, I chose a silver tone hinged collar necklace,
multi band open cuff bracelet and loop design earrings

Carrying a black and white plaid circular buckle detail bag,

with black block heel tailored bow sling backs to finish the look

Matchy couple!

Roger's Winnie the Pooh in the rain tie
coordinates with my outfit
He loves to match what I am wearing,
and will produce a tie in coordinating colors every time!
The umbrella is a very appropriate design,
as we have had a mild but very wet fall and winter-
not much snow but goops an goops of rain! 🌧☔️

Hope everyone enjoys there week!

Happy Valentine's Week!

Hello, Happy Valentine's Week to you all
and thanks for stopping by my blog today!

Valentine's Day is the perfect time to remember and shower
your husband, boyfriend, children, parents, siblings, and all of the special people in your life
with an extra dose of love!

Today, in the spirit of the holiday
I am wearing a dress that could not be more to theme!
The dress is covered with hearts of varying sizes in shades of pink and red
It is a faux wrap style with a flouncy hem, and made of a thick jersey knit,
that is so comfortable and easy to wear
Normally, I would not purchase a dress with a theme for a specific holiday,
but I fell in love ❤️ with this one, and hearts are a favorite motif
that I wear all year round
How about you, do you have any favorite motifs that you love to wear?

For jewelry, I chose some classics
A faux pearl hair band and a pair of faux pearl back to front drop earrings
Also a twisted gold tone bangle bracelet

Carrying a bright magenta bow detail bag

and wearing reptile embossed pink kitten heel slides

Roger is joining me today with a pink button-down shirt
and cute prince charming pin that dated on the back, from 1984
On one special Valentine's Day in the past, Roger surprised me
by coming to my work with the Barbershop quartet he sang with
and serenading me and the whole office with love songs!
It was so much fun!
He is such a romantic💕

Hope everyone has a lovely week!

Red and Pink for Valentine's Month

Hello, and thanks for stopping by my blog!

It's February, and everybody knows what that means-
all the red, pink, hearts and flowers ❤️🌸 come out of the closet
Those red pieces that we are not already tired of from the Christmas holidays, that is.

Red and pink are both pretty divisive colors
Some women like them well enough on other people, but not so much to wear themselves
Others will wear red and pink for a special holiday, but they are not everyday choices
Do you wear red and/or pink? They are two of my favorites
Red is one of my very best colors to wear,
I get more complements when I wear it, than any other color!

My first February outfit is made up of a red and white print
dress that is pretty much a dress for all seasons
The last time I wore it on the blog was Labor Day!
It is a mid-weight jersey in a loosely fitted A-line style
with short flutter sleeves
Normally, I would have packed this dress up until spring,
but this winter I left it out because I had some layering ideas to try with it
Worn today under a red V-neck cardigan with a navy blue belt

Using accessories to add a little bling to make the outfit special
For jewelry, I chose a collar necklace in a circle of navy blue enameled bows,
and a rose gold bangle bracelet with rows of glittery rhinestones
My earrings are vintage, from the 1950's
I chose them because the leaf shapes mimic the pattern on the dress

Another bow on my blue and white polka dotted hair band
Carrying a navy blue quilted chain strap bag

I was not conscious of bows in three places until now, writing the description
of the outfit and looking at the photos!
I guess a three bow outfit is ok if they are relatively subtle
Red bow toe ankle straps to finish the outfit

For my second outfit for this Valentine's month post
I chose a bright pink wool pencil skirt and a square neck top in the same bright pink color
Classic Charcoal grey blazer layered on top

This outfit did not come together quite the way I thought it would
I was looking for a way to tone down the very bright pink skirt,
but the grey blazer seems too dark or the paisley scarf too light-or both
Will try again!

Carrying a grey metallic quilted bag with chain strap

Accessorizing with a large vintage silver tone feather brooch,
hand crafted silver bird earrings and gunmetal grey open cuff bracelet

Wearing a paisley neck scarf in shades of pink, coral and ivory

Grey suede cross strap block heel pumps to finish the outfit

Hope everyone has a l❤️vely week!
