Easter

Hello, thanks for stopping by my blog

Easter is just around the corner,
and I hope you have a very happy one if you celebrate,
or a happy celebration of the coming of spring!
Easter comes early this year
and the warm weather has not yet gotten the message
that it's time for all the florals
to come out of the closet!
Although it is too chilly to switch out my wardrobe for spring,
I have gotten out a few things in the spirit of the season

For Easter, I am wearing this very full skirted fit and flare dress
with a big, bold and colorful floral print
of peach, blue, black and white with green foliage
The dress is sleeveless,
so I am layering an ivory color soft, fuzzy textured
 tie front cardigan over it
The sweater is current, but so Y2K inspired!

I picked out all the fancy, sparkly silver tone jewelry
 to go with the outfit
Rhinestone bow collar necklace, chain link bracelet
with a rhinestone heart charm, and pearl drop earrings

I have not used this silver metallic clutch much lately,
but since metallics are a big trend this year,
I will have to put it in rotation more often

Silver shoes, too
I have been seeing them everywhere,
 worn with every style imaginable,
from super casual to dressy

Roger is in the spirit of the holiday too,
with a pink and blue striped tie,
and dark blue trousers that match his tie
and the blue in the print of my dress

Pink and sky blue and navy blue

Easter 2019 in a few of my favorite things:
A wrap style dress in pastel pink, with rosebuds AND ruffles!
(FYI, don't try to trim your own bangs the day before a holiday)
I have gotten a little better at it now,
thanks to consulting YouTube videos

Flower of the season

Sweet Easter treats
decorated with a rainbow of brightly colored bunnies

Hope you all enjoy the holiday and your week!

Wedding Anniversary

Hello and thanks for visiting my blog

On March 18th, Roger and I celebrated our 27th wedding anniversary!
I can hardly believe that it has been so long,
the years slip by so quickly
I am very fortunate to have found such a wonderful partner in life

For the occasion, I worn a bright pink cropped lady cardigan,
over a teal blue dress with a pleated skirt

The dress is an oldie but goody classic, chosen many times over the past ten years

Carrying a rectangular metallic silver clutch

and wearing some shiny, blingy, silver tone jewelry
A festive tiered wrap bracelet decorated with orb shaped baubbles,
and a very special pair of 1950's vintage earrings
The earrings have a giant glass center stone encircled by smaller rhinestones

Metallic block heel sling backs in metallic "gilver"
 complete the outfit

Roger likes to play along,
so for the occasion, we dressed to match, of course!
He crafted this facsimile of a giant diamond engagement ring
and re-proposed to me back on our 25th anniversary
This gesture was so sweet and heartfelt
Since I didn't post it back then, we put it in today's photo

We were married on the British Virgin Island of Tortola
It was an absolutely breathtaking destination,
and we spent two very memorable weeks there
for our wedding and honeymoon

Here are a few photos from that day, 27 years ago
taken after the ceremony

They are pretty grainy, as they were taken with a film point and shoot camera

Hope you enjoyed this little trip down memory lane
and have a good week!

A Little Bit 'O Green

Saint Patrick's Day is coming on Sunday,
so happy Saint Patrick's Day to you all, and thanks for stopping by my blog!

Even though I don't have any Irish ancestors,
I styled two outfits with green in them to commemorate the day
How about you, any Saint Patrick's Day celebrations coming up?

My first outfit has a base of neutrals,
so it is a perfect canvas to dress up for the holiday,
and pile on the green accessories!
I am wearing a white crew neck tee
with a brown knit U neck vest layered on top,
and a tan button front skirt with a flounce hem

Carrying a Kelly green reptile embossed bag,

and adding a wide green pleated and braided hairband,
and a belt in a similar shade of green

I am even wearing a bit of green in my jewelry, today
I chose a very special dark green 1940's vintage lucite beaded necklace
to wear with two other current pieces,
small gold hoop earrings and a tortoiseshell expandable bracelet

Wearing two tone brown loafers to finish this Saint Patrick's Day look
Honestly, I don't think I would wear this much matchy green
on any given day, but for a little Saint Patrick's Day fun, why not?

My second outfit with green accessories also starts with a neural base,
this time of a camel tan cardigan and brown skirt
The sleeveless top layered under the sweater and my other accessories
are a bit more of a subtle, blue toned green

Carrying a circular forrest green bag with buckle detail,
and also wearing a knotted hairband in the same color

Teal plaid neck scarf because we need more holiday zest, right?
For jewelry, an open cuff bracelet and leaf shaped earrings

Lapracans and leopard? I think yes
Pony hair low heel pumps and belt
that were purchased several years apart-
but look and that match-I love it when that happens!

Decadent dark chocolate mint brownies for a special green treat!

Hope you all have a fun week!

Burgundy pleats

Hello, and thanks for stopping by my blog!

Burgundy is a great color choice for cold winter weather,
and so is a hefty fabric, such as faux leather
I styled this deep burgundy pleather pleated skirt earlier this season,
back in January, in a post about the textiles pleather and faux suede
Are you a fan of leather and suede
and their faux counterparts? How about pleat?
Both pleather and pleats look like they are going to remain
on the fashion front for spring and summer,
morphing into lighter weights and colors

I thought this week would be a good time to restyle this midi skirt,
before the weather warms up too much for my heavy winter fabrics-
which I hope will be soon!
The beginning of spring by the calendar is only a few weeks away,
but the actual temperatures to back it up, will take a little longer, here in Maryland
I am really glad that daylight savings time starts this Sunday
signaling spring is on the way!

This week I am pairing the pleated pleather
with a cozy cropped oyster white textured weave pullover sweater

Roger got in on this post with me,
wearing his comical cartoon Dr. Seuss neck tie
He has fun with his bold and colorful ties!

Polka dots and Dr. Suess

Carrying an ivory satchel bag with buckle detail

I went with brown tone accessories to blend in with the burgundy skirt
Wide tourtoseshell look buckle belt,
my coveted embossed "The Who" vintage leather strap band bracelet,
and textured silver tone earrings

Chunky cordovan color block heel loafers to finish the outfit

All kinds of pleats have been trending
for several years now, and for all seasons
and on all types of clothing
Here are a couple of outfits worn with pleats in the past

A winter holiday outfit with a striped box pleated skirt from Christmas, 2022

An outfit looking forward to the coming of spring
And a coral knife pleated dress from early spring, 2020
Looking forward to the coming of spring

Hope everyone enjoys their week!
