Mother's Day outfit ideas

Thanks for stopping by my blog today!

Mother's Day seems the perfect time to dress up,
so this week I decided to share a few outfit ideas
for this special holiday coming up next week
A pretty dress is always a favorite for me
I was smitten by this one by Betsy Johnson,
in aqua blue with a joyful allover print of butterflies
I love that the butterflies are of varying sizes and shapes,
and the shades of pink and blue are so perfect for spring!
I am wearing a sheer white lace cropped cardigan
layered over the dress for this styling
I chose the same lace topper styled over a skirt and top
for an Easter outfit last year
It seems to be what I reach for, for spring holidays!

So fancy and feminine for a special day

Carrying my magenta bag to bring out
the pinks in the dress's print

For jewelry I chose a gold tone pendant disc necklace
and flower shaped earrings
The pink bead and faux pearl wrap bracelet is vintage, from the 1940's

White cross strap sandals to finish the outfit

Another fancy option for a special day
in a soft monochrome palette
It looks like one piece,
but it is an ivory blouse layered over a sleeveless dress of the same color

Tied at the waist with a peach and blue print scarf

The dress has the prettiest crochet trim on the tiers of the skirt

Since the outfit has a bit of a boho chic feel,
I chose this more casual style peach bucket bag to carry

Gold tone looping 3-D earrings and chain link initial necklace for jewelry

Nude ankle tie low heel pumps to finish the look

A bouquet of carnations in a beautiful cheerful spring coral color

Hope everyone enjoys their week!

Spring Red-y

I am more than ready to shed the layers
and unpack my light spring and summer fabrics,
but will the weather cooperate?
I hope so ๐Ÿคž It's been a late blooming spring, this year
I am more than red-y for all the florals,
and of course, incorporating one of my favorite colors to wear-red!
Both of my outfits this week feature the color red and a floral print

First, a multi color random print floral blouse with a red background
This blouse has a flattering scoop neckline and pretty puffed, ruched short sleeves
Worn with a navy blue flared knee length shirt

A trail of tiny flowers is perfect for spring!

Carrying my navy quilted bag with gold tone chain shoulder strap

For jewelry, I chose a sweet bow collar necklace in gold tone and navy blue enamel
with flower shaped (of course!) earrings and a twisted hinged bracelet

To finish the look, some more bright color-
red faux suede pumps with knotted vamp

Another outfit featuring the color red and a floral print for spring
A dark red top under a white puffed sleeve blazer,
paired with a skirt that has a multi color floral print
This skirt is a faux wrap with a narrow ruffled hem

Carrying a little red leather cross body bag
with multi colored rhrinstones on the flap

A mix of old and new in my jewelry
Nineties vintage rhinestone decorated turtle necklace and red enamel dot earrings,
worn with a modern love knot hinged bracelet

Black wide strap block heel sandals to finish the outfit

All the red in this dressy but simple outfit for a special occasion back in the spring of 2017
A really red dress with an asymmetrical pleated and tucked design

From early April
These beautiful blossoms have fallen from the trees,
and now form a lovely pink carpet on the ground

Hope everyone enjoys their week!

Craving Color

Hello, and thanks for stopping by my blog!

I am really craving the bright colors of the season
All of the vibrant oranges, reds and pinks are in the trending fashion mix this spring,
as Pantone has named Tangelo, Beetroot (fuchsia) and Fiery Red
in it's top ten shades for spring
And of course there is the 2023 color of the year, Viva Magenta!

For today's first outfit, I chose a bright orange open cropped cardigan
over a white lace trimmed top,
paired with a floral printed pleated midi skirt
This skirt is very versatile for all seasons
I wore it on the blog last fall, back in October styled with
seasonal colors in a post about autumn colors

Carrying a hard case tan clutch
and accessorizing with a matching tan woven belt
Black and white polka dot head band adds a little print mixing

For jewelry, three gold tone pieces
A collar necklace, a favorite open cuff bracelet and
vintage knot and loop earrings

Tan heeled tassel loafers to finish the outfit

This next dress has all the spring colors in an abstract print
The navy blue background really makes them pop!
I wore this dress back in the fall in October, also
with a blazer layer on top
Both the skirt above and this dress can be worn in lots of different ways
and are versatile transitional weather pieces

For jewelry with this outfit I chose a necklace of interconnected blue enamel bows,
gold tone leaf motif earrings and a twisted bangle bracelet

On the pink train with matching bright pink bow bag and slides-
Viva Magenta!

Lots of color in the garden, too
The tulips  ๐ŸŒท  are blooming

Hope you all have a wonderful, colorful week!

Soft Tone Layers for Spring-Casual and Dressy

Hello, and thanks for stopping by my blog
I hope everyone had a Happy Easter and a great spring break!

This week, I am sharing two outfits in the soft colors that are typical of spring,
although this season, everything goes, color wise
Pantone choose a mix of super saturated brights,
 (think Viva Magenta and Tangelo),
side by side with soft, muted shades like the Peach Pink
of the blazer in my first outfit

We are straddling the line between warm and cool
here in Maryland at this time of year,
so I am still layering, but trying to lighten up my  colors and fabrics
at the same time

Wearing a dusty peachy-pink roll tab blazer under a peach, coral, yellow and white
floral print top
Worn with medium wash boot cut jean

Carrying a two tone brown vegan leather and linen fabric handle bag

I chose jewelry to complement the brown color and gold tone hardware on the bag
Large (for me) hoop earrings, a wrap bracelet and the cutest little
artisan made 3-D puppy brooch

Bone color perforated stack heel slides to finish the look

Next, a more dressy outfit, also with a blazer layer
Wearing a ivory sheath dress that has a bit of a Mad Men late 50's, early 60's vibe
The dress has a swirling textured design but it is not very visible in the photo
It is sleeveless, so I chose a chambray blue shaw collar blazer
over it for a color block look, and an added layer of warmth

Accessorizing with a vintage 1960's patent leather clutch
and a pink reptile embossed belt

For jewelry, a flower ๐ŸŒธ to celebrate the spring season!
A pink rhinestone flower outline brooch with a faux pearl center
Also, these fantastic 50's vintage pink baguette rhinestone crescent shaped earrings
They are very special and I love them, but don't often wear them
Dressing up this outfit seemed the perfect occasion for them

Nude low ankle tie heels to finish the look

Soft muted spring tones from 2020

The last of the late blooming daffodils ๐ŸŒผ
what a joy they are!

Hope you all have a good week!

Easter outfits in two very different pinks!

Hello, and thanks for stopping by my blog
Easter is coming, so Happy Easter to you all!

Easter season is always a little tricky, weather wise
At this time of year, in my part of the US,
it is typically damp ("April showers..."), and still a little chilly
Spring is meteorologically here, but the actual
springlike temperatures and sunshine are lagging behind

Since this fashion season is all about pink,
I thought it would be fun to chose two pinks
from opposite ends of the spectrum for this week's post

First, let's go bright!
I love pink๐Ÿ’•, and a pretty dress, so this is a natural choice for me
The dress is a midi length wrap style in bright magenta with a lighter pink floral print
It has lots of nice details like smocked sleeve ends and a deep, full flounce at the hem
Another festive feature that doesn't come through in the photo
is that the fabric is shot through vertically with golden thread,
to give it a sparkly appearance

Dainty gold jewelry to accessorize this dress
A rhinestone embellished collar necklace,
my favorite bow bracelet, and large flower shaped earrings
with individual 3-D petals

Carrying a bronze metallic bag and wearing a pink top knot hairband

Lilac tie heels to finish the look

As a complete contrast, for my second outfit I chose
the palest of pink in a monochrome look
The blouse and skirt have the look of a dress
The pieces are close in color, but not exact so I divided them with a pink belt

Accessories for dressing this look up for the holiday
Carrying a reptile embossed silver metallic clutch and wearing silver tone jewelry
The earrings are a loop motif, and the lariat design necklace is embellished with
pave rhinestones

Wearing the same lilac lace up heels as the first outfit to complete the look

A little bit of Easter decor

I hope everyone has a lovely holiday and a good week!
