Thanksgiving Greetings!

Happy Thanksgiving to you all,
and thank you for stopping by my blog!

The holiday season sort of snuck up on me this year
It's been sort of a blur of activity from Halloween to nearly Thanksgiving
How about you?

My first outfit is a fall classic for the traditional family holiday
Don't want to offend any relatives with my outrageous and inappropriate style choices-lol!

A tan blazer is adaptable to all seasons
but first and foremost, it always seems perfect for fall 🍁

I wore this jacket earlier in the season in a post about an autumn palette
Today I am wearing it with a jersey knit top and midi skirt
in one of the Pantone colors for the season called Red Dahlia-
yes to all the reds!

This scarf is worn folded in half, tied at the back of my neck
and tucked loosely into the front of the skirt
I have worn a smaller scarf similarly, in this sort of cowgirl/western style,
but of all the many ways I've worn scarves, I have never tried this
What do you think? The scarf almost looks like a colorful blouse with the jacket over it

I chose some warm, gold tone jewelry to complement the outfit
A hinged bracelet, and two vintage pieces from the fifties/sixties
A cute shaggy dog brooch and a pair of atomic design clip on earrings
The earrings were a bit of a gamble, purchased them online on Etsy,
but they did not disappoint-I love them!

Another accessory from the same vintage era is this
hardshell envelope bag in an embossed tan reptile print

Taupe cross strap block heels to finish the outfit

Roger is a man of many talents and neckties!
He is sure to make a matching statement with my outfit!

For my next outfit, I am trying a whole different vibe,
and going from muted tones to bright, festive color!
This dress is an oldy but goody, in a favorite style
It is sleeveless, and I usually wear it in spring and summer,
but I thought I would try it out layered for fall
Because, you know-orange!
Diagonally striped fit and flare dress
with a tan cropped cardigan layered over it

Carrying a caramel color croc embossed handlebag

A mix of vintage and modern jewelry, again for this outfit
Chunky gold tone square/round hoop earrings,
a 1950's expandable gold tone bracelet,
and a very special 1940's carved Lucite bird pin

To finish the outfit, two tone camel and light tan Maryjane slides

A little Thanksgiving decor-
Accordion paper turkey from the 90's,
and cornucopia glassware from the 40's

I hope everyone enjoys a safe and happy holiday!
I will be taking a short blogging break next Sunday
hope to see you in two weeks!

Jewel Tone Blues for November

I love my blue hues! 💙
I wear all the shades of blue, but am especially fond
of the deep rich jewel tones
These shades are so popular and accessible during the fall and winter season
How about you, are you a fan of the blues and jewel tones for fall and winter?

My first outfit this week is a deep, royal blue knit dress,
with a random black grid pattern
It is a faux wrap style, with a V neckline,
and long fitted sleeves with puffed sleeve caps
It is a current dress, but it has a very 80's vibe to me
Wearing a black camisole underneath

I chose black semi sheer tights as this dress is a bit short for me
Also, they blend in so nicely with the 80's look of the dress

Carrying my black and white handle bag with wide graphic stripes
I am surprised at how often I reach for this little purse-
it is just the boost of color and contrast that a lot of my outfits need!

Wearing a black belt with silver tone buckle, and for jewelry,
a silver tone multi band bracelet and pearl stud earrings

Some more accessories, because the 80's was all about excess and embellishment!
Royal blue wired hair tie, and black and white polka dot neck scarf

Black suede block heel sling backs to finish the outfit

My second outfit is designed
to showcase the bright peacock blue color of the peplum blouse
It has the most cheerful colors in a lively print of tiny flowers
of yellow, white, red and black
I am wearing the blouse open this time, like a jacket with a black sash belt tied in a bow,
and a white crochet ribbed knit top underneath
Black straight leg trousers on the bottom

For jewelry, I chose a gold tone chain collar necklace,
and chain drop earrings

This 1950's vintage red frame bag does not get chosen frequently
but it seems to have the right feel for this outfit
To me, peplum tops sometimes have a retro feel to them
T hey enjoyed great popularity in the 40's and 80's,
and have been springing up again lately
in the continuing cycle of fashion!

Red suede bow motif ankle straps to finish the look

Starting to decorate a little for Thanksgiving, with the holiday fast approaching!

Hope your week goes well!

Incorporating Pink into Your Fall Wardrobe

Hello, and thanks for stopping by my blog!

Pink is not traditionally a central color in many women's winter wardrobes,
but it has grown so much in popularity for all seasons over the past two years
Starting with Barbiecore and continuing with Viva Magenta as Pantone's color of the year,
then, there was the opening of the long awaited Barbie Movie. Phew!
There have been a lot of shades of pink in the picture, all year round
I love pink 💕 💖 so I'm very happy with the color's surge in popularity
Are you a pink lover, and enjoying this trend?

Here are two outfits with pink incorporated into them to brighten up the short winter days,
and the generally darker palette
First, a rose pink midi skirt with an all over burgundy abstract print
Worn with a burgundy blouse and a navy blue jacket style cardigan layer on top

More pink to lighten up the look
with a neck scarf in two shades of pink and wine
For jewelry, a gold tone twist bracelet and looped earrings

Carrying a navy blue quilted chain strap bag

Reptile embossed navy blue block heel sling backs to finish the outfit

In my next outfit I am wearing a shirt in rose pink,
worn under an ivory sweater vest with a dark wash denim skirt

carrying a two tone brown and beige structured handle bag

Wearing this small vintage Vera feather print scarf as a necklace

Accessorizing with my vintage brass butterfly buckle belt
and some simple jewelry
Knotted loop earrings and a rose and gold tone wrap bracelet

Lots of vintage extras in this outfit!
These cognac suede lace ups are vintage, from Bass
Amazingly they fit and are reasonably comfortable
I purchased them at a vintage shop, they must have sat in somebody's closet
unworn, for ages

Pink in the garden-
we still have a few cheerful pink Petunias in the November

Enjoy your week, and hope to see you next time!
