Athleisure wear track pants three ways

I've been slow to try out this trend, seeing others master it brilliantly,
but hesitant to jump in myself.

I purchased these "track" pants from Belle & Sky, back in March to give the trend a try.
They are crepe, and a bit more dressy that anything I would really work out in!

For this first outfit, I paired them with a lace trimmed mint floral blouse
under an eyelet boxy 3/4 sleeve jacket for a work appropriate look.

Casual silver tone and mint enamel bangle bracelet and flower earrings.

Mint braid detail clutch and animal print wedge sandals.
The picture of these is MIA due to a software update gone rogue.
I spent hours at the Apple store yesterday, only the bring the computer home
with one problem solved, and two new ones.
Technology can be so frustrating!

Anyway, the whole outfit combination sounds much wilder than it looks in person.

For this second outfit, I kept the whole look casual with a
blue, white and black striped pullover, and white sneakers.

Blue chain strap mini bag, and silver tone
star earrings and link design cuff bracelet.

This last look is another combination that sounds kind of outrageous.
I paired the track pants with a white off the shoulder blouse, trimmed in black.
It looks a little like a casual tuxedo, without the jacket.
Track pant-tux. LOL!

Worn with my vinyl DVF circles clutch,
sculptural silver tone bangle and bird earring.

Trusty neutral ankle strap wedges to finish.

Thought for the Day:

It's Memorial Day in the US.
A day to remember the men and women who have lost there lives fighting for our country.
I give thanks to all those who have served and are currently serving in our armed forces.

Al Fresco Memorial Day table

Happy Memorial Day!

This holiday weekend will be a great time for Al Fresco dining.
Here are some ideas for setting a pretty table for an outdoor get together.

A flower woven table cover, and a flower pot centerpiece make a springy and festive table.

I found these cobalt blue, star shaped bowls at Target.
I can see them dressing up the table for other summer events, too,
like Independence Day, and Labor Day to name a few.

We are fortunate to have a screened in porch,
but it's not a necessity, an outdoor picnic table is fun, also!

Setting for two

We'll be eating watermelon, of course, yum!

And, at our community yard sale, one of our neighbors made
butterscotch cookies.  My husband loved them so much, he circled back to buy
another dozen after he tasted them!

I'm not sure, yet, what else will be on the menu,
but the presentation will be pretty!

I hope everyone who celebrates has a Happy Memorial Day
summer kick-off!

Pastel Spring!

The most recent revival of pastel colors in fashion
has been much more to my liking than previous incarnations.
In the past, many garments made in pastel colors seemed very juvenile.  No more!
I like the way these colors are presented in a more grown-up and sophisticated way.

It this first outfit, I am wearing a pastel blue flap pocket blouse
with a coral and yellow floral print, with an A-line white denim skirt.

Tan faux woven box clutch, pearl earrings,
and a coral sash belt from another dress.

Comfortable low block heel sandals in tan.

The next outfit is a mix of pale pink, light blue and ivory.
Washed denim pink shirt dress under a 90's retro ivory cable tie waist vest.

A Blue mini bag and a light blue and ivory floral print neck scarf,

Finished off with taupe espadrilles.

More pastels in this last outfit.
Ivory lace trimmed blouse, knotted at the waist,
with a vintage DVF silk print skirt of such yummy colors!

Silver tone starfish necklace
and mint enamel flower earrings and bangle bracelet,

with white cross strap sandals to finish.

Thought and images for the Day:
Pastels in the natural world are restful on our over taxed eyes.

Flower Power

Spring is the season for florals, that's for sure,
but this spring it's full on!

Flowers are emblazoning tops, bottoms, dresses, bags, shoes
and every accessory imaginable.

Personally, I'm thrilled.  I love a good floral.  Dress me like a blooming garden, please!

This first outfit, has a floral print on the top.
Peach bell sleeve blouse with large white and tan blooms,
worn with a white linen button front skirt.

My jewelry for this outfit has an ocean theme,
Dolphin bracelet and Starfish earrings with a silver tone collar necklace.

Tan block heel lace up sandals, and a taupe braided belt to finish the look.

The next outfit is a little more daring for me-a floral on wide leg cropped pants.
More large blossoms, this time in a royal blue, white and yellow print
 on a forest green background.
Worn with a white short sleeve tie waist jacket, which has been a wardrobe staple
for over five years.  I definitely got my money's worth from this piece!
 Royal blue tank top underneath.

Gold tone and blue stone jewelry

and pale gray block heel strappy sandals.

Lastly, a dress with a multi colored  garden of large flowers and leaves,
on a neutral tan background.
Worn with a dark green boucle cardigan.

DIY beaded necklace and silver tone bird earrings.

Finished off with metallic embossed gunmetal flats and clutch.

Photos for the day:  Flowers, of course!
Thought for the day:  Don't forget to stop and admire some throughout your day.

Target shop

It's definitely festive and summery at Target, even if it is in a florescent lit building!
It's quite a change from the 56 degree temps and soaking rain outdoors.
Spring weather is so slow to come, this year, in our area!

Anyway, I found plenty of inspiration at Target.
Starting with pretty colors and embellishments,
like this blush delicately embroidered tunic,

and this ruffly blouse in the same soft shade.

Ruffles and floral together!
I've spotted this sweet blouse on several bloggers. It comes in blue, too.

Gingham is a major trend this season, here's a cropped and oversized casual example.

Another cropped gingham top, also hitting the off the shoulder, and bell sleeve trends.

There are lots of black and white prints to choose from,
here, which is great for easy pattern mixing.
Like this breezy black on white tank,

and this white on black blouse with 3/4 length bell sleeves.

I'm happy to see eyelet is back for another season.
Here, on a white off the shoulder top.  So sweet and feminine.

There are some great dress styles, too.
Like this floral wrap, (I always love this style),

and this sweet peach and orange floral midi.

This ruffled trimmed dress with tassel ties on the sleeves is so adorable!

A lot of shift style dresses are appearing this spring,
as well as an emphasis on denim and chambray.
Love the denim, will have to get used to the shift silouette.

Shift style mu-mu?

Bomber jackets as still going strong,
and of course, they have sprouted flowers!

All sizes of floral prints on pants, too.

I like the pleated skirt trend, especially longer midi and maxi length ones.
This one in easy mixing black and white.

This would be more problematic to match, but

this was dyed to match with it.  From WhoWhatWear for Target.

A few more cute skirts-love the sea birds print!

Major ruffles are popping up on skirts, too.
This one has such a tropical, summer fun vibe.

Also, there are still a few things available in the stores
from the Victoria Beckham collaboration,
now, 30% off.  I asume they trickled in from returns,
because a few of these styles were not carried in our store.

Thought for the day:
There is such great abundance all around us.
Remember to be thankful for all the choices that we have!
