Tee Dress with a Twist

Hello, welcome, and thanks for stopping by my blog!

 I live in Maryland,
and October is a most glorious month here, weather-wise
For the most part, it is in that warm sweet spot-
mostly sunny, with temperatures in the 70's
In retail-land however, the world is ramping up for fall,
 and has been since when...July?
I like to savor the end of the summer season,
and revel in the beautiful transitional weather outside

It will be a week or two
until I seriously start changing out my wardrobe
for the chillier months ahead
For now, during these wonderful bridge months,
I am adapting by wearing some seasonable color,
light layers, more substantial jewelry and accessories,
and some darker florals

Since I live on an island, that is off a peninsula,
I am literally surrounded by water 💦
You can probably imagine the enthusiasm for water sports, here
Almost everyone in the area
wants to stretch out the time they can enjoy them
🏊‍♀️🏄🏼‍♀️🚣‍♀️⛵️🚤
This is one of those places where some people doggedly
wear shorts and flip-flops until it snows!
(Not me, though)
Is this type of determination to keep the summer alive
 seen in your area?

For today I am styling a supremely comfortable outfit
with a teal short sleeve wrap tee shirt dress
It is so unbelievably soft, yet constructed of a substantial knit
I love the draped and gathered wrap style,
and think in elevates this simple dress

I picked out some gold and brass tone jewelry pieces
that I wear all year round
My birds-in-flight statement necklace,
open organic shaped cuff bracelet
and wreath stud earrings

Carrying a quilted denim clutch
with a detachable wrist strap

Neutral two tone tan block heel Maryjanes to finish the look

Below, a photo of Roger and I this summer
I am wearing the same dress with lighter accessories,
and he has chosen a fun matching geometric print tie

Teal is a great transitional color
Here is as outfit in the color from the archives:
Autumn 2019!
A sheer tie waist print blouse in teal, black and shades of blue
paired with a teal pleated midi skirt

Getting in the spirit of the season with a fall theme centerpiece of found objects and a market gourd

Hope everyone enjoys their week!

I love the color teal, and this dress is such a pretty silhouette! I am definitely trying to prolong summer this year, though the temperatures today are cooling down toward fall. Winter is such a long season in Minnesota that I am in not in any hurry to move toward it :D
