Halloween

 Hello and welcome-

thanks for stopping by my blog today,

 for my halloween post!

This year, as every year since we have lived in our community,

which is nearly 13 years now,

 there has a party with a group trick or treat afterwards

(except during Covid lockdown)

The party is so much fun and includes everyone:

Children, adults and pets dress up,

 and are judged in different categories

for their creative costumes

 The winners in each category receive small prizes

 You can imagine a lot of fun-loving adults

 go all out with costumes as well as the kids

It's not that often that grown-ups can let their inner child 

out and dress in full costume-   

 and a lot of them really do it up!

Are you a Halloween enthusiast?

  

After the party, the children go trick or treating around the neighborhood so we will be outfitted to hand out candy

 It's a lot of fun for the whole family

I am not dressed in a costume,

 but certainly in the spirit of the holiday

This dress is from Hell Bunny and I have had it,

 and one other similar dress for years

This one has skulls, roses and bats in the design

💀 🌹🦇

 and the other one has pink and violet flowers, and skulls

It is fun to get them out each year,

sometime during the Halloween season

 Of course I also wear most of the orange in my closet

 during the weeks leading up to Halloween, as well

I wear these dresses a little differently each year,

 by layering under and over them

This year I am wearing a white crop cardigan over the dress

 Hopefully, the weather will allow this to be my only over layer We'll see, the end of October

 can be very unpredictable weather wise,

but so far it looks like it will be temperate, in the 60's

For a bag I chose this red tooled leather clutch

 I like the color, it's different from much tooled leather,

as it is primarily done in natural tones of brown and tan

For jewelry I chose my black (nonpoisonous) spider hinged  bracelet and a kerchief style necklace that 

looks a bit like a spider web

 Also silver tone Angel wing earrings

Adding a few more accessories with a red satin hair scarf,

 and an usual black three buckle belt

 to finish the look

The Devil himself has shown up on my blog!

Oh, it's just a costumed Roger

 I think it would be a mistake

to harm or spear this angel in a devil's costume!

Autumn Color

 Hello, welcome to my blog and

thanks for stopping by!

I always love to pull out my few pieces of clothing

 with the color orange in them for October,

 because the color suits the season and the month so well!

How about you? 

Do you like to dress in the colors of the season,

 or do you like to stick to your favorites?

   Orange is not a color that I wear often,

as it is very warm and does not suit my cool 

tone complexion very well

I like the color so much though, it is very joyful!

I also enjoy dressing for the colors of the season

When I do wear orange,

I use the strategy of wearing something

 that is in my color palette, or at least neutral, near my face,

 and use those true oranges in my accessories

Today, I am wearing a summer sundress as a fall skirt

I don't think I have ever worn this dress in the summer,

 as it was meant to be worn, because the colors

are perfect for fall

All of the items in this outfit are from previous seasons

 The dress in particular,

 has been in my wardrobe for over 10 years!  

 

 Even though the print is giant stylized poppies,

 the colors are definitely fall like

Yellow, gold and red-orange on a black background

 I usually wear the dress layered in the autumn

For this outfit I decided to wear a short sleeve button up

 crew neck sweater, that is more of a pinkish coral, 

but gives an orange-y feel, over the dress

I chose decidedly warm and autumnal accessories

   For a bag, this quilted tweed in mostly orange, 

with an adjustable chain strap

My gold tone jewelry consists of a large dome bangle bracelet,

 a brass tone collar necklace with amber colored rhinestones, and vintage 1950s leaf shaped earrings

For shoes I choose black suede low block heel sling backs

 with a tuxedo bow and fine chain detail

Even though suede goes hand in hand with the 

autumn and winter seasons, this year it is a major trend 

Creative suede and faux suede items are plentiful

 I love that this year I am seeing them

 in a lot of unusual colors, like pink and blue for instance

I predict that I will not be able to resist 

 some new suede accessories

in fun and unexpected colors!

 Here is one of the other times I wore this dress,

also in the fall, with a black net 3/4 sleeve blouse 

layered underneath

As Jodie says, " be the boss of your clothes"!

Our temperatures have done the autumn dip,

so the sweater and light outerwear boxes will definitely

 need to be retrieved from storage this week

Pink and Orange, Together Again

Hello, welcome, thanks so much

 for taking a few moments to join me 

on my outfit sharing journey!

Today I am wearing a color combination

 that is relatively new to me, but I have fully embraced-

pink and orange together!

Do you wear colors together now

 that maybe you would not have even considered

in the past? 

Five years ago I would have never tried this

And why not? It is such a cheerful, happy combination

I am so glad that style evolves, and what seemed outrageous

 in previous decades is perfectly normal today 

This outfit is very classic but the color combination

 gives it a fresh and quirky twist

The shirt style blouse is orange,

 with a large bright pink chain design 

  Layering a fuchsia pink ribbed cardigan over the blouse

 On the bottom is a black button front, A-line skirt

 

 I love to wear my vintage accessories,

 and this orange purse is no exception

 It is a patent leather handle bag from the 1960s

For jewelry, I thought I would play

 on the chain motif of the blouse

  Wearing a gold tone metal chain hair band,

 a box chain bracelet, 

and drop earrings of two links of a chain

 None of these are the same,

but they are similar, and I think they go together nicely

On my feet are a much-loved pair of black suede

 block heel sling back pumps.

 I have the same shoe in a navy blue reptile print

They proved to be so comfortable, I purchased the black suede ones when they came available last year

 This entire outfit was shopped from my closet

 I have been doing a little fall shopping (looking)

 at the brick and mortar stores, but I am pretty discouraged

 by what I see. Brown, brown and more shades of brown with a few other very dark shades mixed in like Bordeaux and eggplant

I hope later in the season more of the other colors

 that are predicted to be trending this season

 will be in evidence

 Although it will be a few months until Pantone

 comes out with it's color of the year for 2027,

I will definitely be wearing Cloud Dancer through the winter

I like it for its ability to lighten up

 those dark winter colors

 Other predictors such as WGSN and COLORO

 have picked a beautiful luminous cobalt blue

to lead their color line up,

with russet, lilac, bright yellow and deep green

 as the other chosen hues

Can't wait for that beautiful blue

 to make it's way into the stores!

Of course the undisputed color of October is orange!

Leaf Print Blouse for Fall

Hello, and as usual, thanks so much for joining me!

 

I really appreciate you stopping by my blog,

and I so enjoy participating

 in the blogging community

Since October is here, I sometimes like to dress

 in theme with the season

 I chose this multicolor leaf print blouse today

 What could be more like autumn than a print of falling leaves?

The leaves on the trees are just starting to turn colors here,

but it won't be long until there is a crunchy carpet of beautiful colors beneath our feet!

This blouse was a bit of an impulse buy last fall,

 because of the seasonal leaf print

It is pretty abstract though, and I think I can wear it

 through most of the seasons

I like the striking multicolored print of the simplified,

 warm and cool shades of the leaves,

 on a navy blue background

Worn today with dark wash straight leg denim trousers 

I love a bow at the neck

 Carrying this classic orange tweed, quilted fabric bag,

  with chain handle, especially in the fall

 Although I keep it out all year round,

 it seems especially well suited to autumn

The accessories I choose are a brown leather bow belt, silver tone teardrop earrings, and a brown and ivory

 tortoise design bracelet

For shoes I went with cognac color Mary Jane sling backs 

  This warm brown color is great for fall 

Roger likes to bake, and these are the first

 pumpkin muffins of the season,

 Yummy, I love them!
