Hello, welcome! And thanks for stopping by!
This week I chose two unusual floral print dresses
to style on the blog
I have noticed a lot of two-color combinations
being used in different prints, especially florals and stripes,
so I thought I would give this trend a whirl
I chose two dresses that are florals in two colors,
but are very different otherwise
Have you noticed the two-color trend this spring?
The colors of my first dress are Kelly green and white,
in a large, bright and abstract pattern
The fabric is a cool linen blend
and the dress has a collarless split V neckline,
cuffed short sleeves, and an attached sash belt
It is very loose and flowy, so the sash adds some shape
The dress is very comfortable to wear,
and I think it will be great in the summer heat!
Because the print is extra large,
I chose bold jewelry pieces to complement it
A chunky, dome hinged bangle bracelet,
and a wide collar necklace in soft gold tone,
with a pair of bright white enamel 3-D
flower petal earrings
This scarf is vintage, from the 70's
and shows the historical sites in a cute and cartoonish way
It is so beloved by me
because Washington DC is my home city-without-a-state
For shoes, I picked shiny white fisherman style
T-straps with kitten heels
My second dress this week is a black and white two-color
(or lack of color) print
I don't wear it very often anymore,
because it has thin spaghetti straps, so requires a strapless bra,
(always a nuisance!)
Since black and white is a popular color combination
for this spring and summer season,
I thought I'd try for a fresh styling of the dress
It has a black beaded neckline
over a cutout, and the fabric is printed
with the most magical exotic, gigantic blooms
The pattern reminds me of Victorian wallpaper
It is a light cotton batiste,
with a white on white tonal diagonal strip
I guess it could be considered two tone
on top of two color!
I added a black mesh bolero top,
and although the dress has a fitted bodice,
I added my own black bow belt for interest
For accessories I decided to stick with the black and white plan,
even though it's unusual for me-
I'm always tempted to add a pop of color!
I chose my beloved playful, Basset Hounds bag
For jewelry, I added a curved, open circle collar necklace
and classic double drop faux pearl earrings
Here's the Black satin and chain belt
which I tied into a big bow at the waist of the dress
Lastly, I chose black d'Orsay pumps to finish the outfit

Beautifully selected colors. Green is a color that always gives energy. I have a woolen coat in a similar shade, and it is really warm, beautiful and nice to my skin.
These are such amazing outfits! Your black and white outfit really stands out just because you normally love colors-but you still managed to add so much interest with print and accessories! Hope you are having a great week!
I am planning to pull out a few less worn dress to wear this week at church. I have such great ones now that it takes me a while to give each of them a chance to be worn.

Your styling is always exquisite! I love the kelly green and white. Such a fresh combination. It's great that the scarf has some memories attached to it. The second look would be perfect for a glamorous night out. Have a good weekend!
Gosh that second outfit reminds me so much of the time when I was still working. That was our signature style. Dresses like that with a bolero or cute little cardigan. Looooved it! And the green scarf is very lovely too, and the slingbacks and...... all! Have a great start of the week!
Both dresses are beautiful and your accessories are fantastic as always! I love the Washington scarf and Bassett Hound clutch bag. Thanks for linking!
