All That glitters

The holidays are a great time to wear your most special pieces
 for the season's festive occasions.

I hope everyone is having a wonderful holiday
whether you chose to bring out the bling, or not!

This sweet lace bodice blouse with billowy sleeves is easy to dress up or down.
Here, I chose to dress it up, and paired it with a silver metallic
lace pencil skirt that has been a holiday favorite of mine for the past five years running.

For jewelry, I wore a rhinestone necklace and hand crafted dangling faux pearl earrings.
The earrings were a birthday gift years ago from my sweet Aunt Naomi.

Suede tie heels and one of my favorite box bags, to finish.

Next a black with gold lame faux wrap midi dress with a 70's vibe,

worn with a mixed textures and metallic studded belt,
and a gold tone and rhinestone chunky necklace.

Wearing the same heels from the outfit above, and a black faux fur convertible strap bag.

Lastly, an ivory 3/4 sleeve blouse with lots of pretty details: embroidery, scallops and tucks.
Paired with a shimmery lame micro pleated midi skirt.

And dripping pearls!
This very special vintage costume pearl necklace, with a fancy leaf motif silver tone clasp,
This can also be worn backwards.  It looks very dramatic paired with a low back dress.
A more basic vintage choker necklace worn as a bracelet.

Pink lace up heels, rhinestone stud earrings, and a slim silver metallic clutch
complete the outfit.

May all of your new year's hopes and wishes come true!

Holiday thrift

I thought it would be fun to show you some of the holiday wear possibilities
I have found in the thrift store this month.

These two Christmas sweaters were at Target earlier in the season,
and I found them at the thrift shop this week.
  Good for a little whimsy!

Of course, the thrift store is a great place to pick up
a vintage ugly Christmas sweater for that theme holiday get together.
This one looks 90's, and seems to have a fox hunt theme, which is a little unusual.

Dress up any wintery outfit with a faux fur jacket,

or a bright pink velveteen coat.
Love this one!

A  cozy fleece lined, Nordic pattern cardigan is a holiday favorite.

This pullover sweater with allover bow design is very tempting...

A pretty blouse in black lace over wine

A sheer blouse with a dressy faux pearl collar

A little more lace

A lot of lace!
I could hardly resist this one, but I have a similar cobalt lace dress already in my closet.

 Festive bright pink

This shaw collar jacket has a lovely shiny finish,

and this tuxedo jacket, a snazzy lining

A gold lame cropped jacket is party perfect!

Full on shine!  I so wanted this to fit, but it was too snug :(
Someone else will be rockin' it this season!

Leopard print camisole with  golden snake detail-whoa

And lastly, these sparkly sole and heel platform pumps

I hope everyone is enjoying the festivities of the season
and having a wonderful holiday in whatever finery you chose!

Christmas week

The weeks leading up to Christmas seem like the perfect time to go all out,
dressing festively in the spirit of the season!

First, I'm wearing a red blazer over a black with red dotted stripes sweater dress

with strappy heels and a stripped bag

Accessorized with a red and black reptile look belt, earrings with rhinestones
and my 1960's brooch is a poodle decked out in a Santa hat!
(I took off the bracelet-another time)

More Christmasy colors. A red pullover sweater and a tie waist silk skirt
in a leaf print in shades of green, red and gold.

With bronze metallic T-straps, and a vintage faux reptile clutch

Bronze leaf jewelry to follow the theme of the skirt's print

Lastly, a floral peplum top, with a sheer black blouse underneath,
paired with red pencil skirt

Teal quilted tassel bag, heeled black booties, and gold tone jewelry

Only one more week until Christmas
December has flown by in a blur!

Hope everyone is having a fantastic holiday season!

Christmastime Table Decor

This Christmas season I decided to use some of my cherished vintage decorations
as centerpieces for the Christmastime table.
They are so cute, I thought I'd share them with you, too.
They don't get out of their boxes except for a few weeks a year, so I want everyone to enjoy them!
Using them on the table at mealtime makes them the center of attention and conversation pieces.

A fun and festive table, set for a casual dinner
(The forks are still in the dishwasher!)

Close up of the mid century kissing Santa and Mrs. Clause salt and pepper shakers, a ceramic Santa with a big bag of toys, and my favorite, a winking Santa ceramic pitcher.

A slightly different diner setting

with playful little 1950's elves on a four piece set spelling out Noel.

For drinks, mid century tall tumblers with Santa desending further down the chimney on each glass!
I bought those cute "Elfie Time" napkins at Home Goods

For Christmas Eve dinner for two, a vase of fresh greens and Holly berries from our garden
as the centerpiece

I hope everyone is having a great holiday season,
full of family, friends and fun!

Red dress 3 ways

'Tis the season for red!
I like to wear red anyway, but around the Christmas holidays, I bring it out in full force!
This red and black color block shift dress is a great building block for this time of year.

First, I'm wearing it with a semi-sheer black blouse underneath,

wide strap low heels, and a DVF dotted vinyl clutch.

A modern design silver tone pendant and stud earrings for jewelry.

This time, I chose a woven black and white striped jacket
that I thrifted last year to layer over the dress.

The accessories are in different textures in black:
A shiny patent clutch and pebble grain belt,

and faux suede block heel lace ups to finish the outfit.

Here, a long grey ribbed cardigan that is a basic I have had in my wardrobe for five years,
changes up the look.

Worn with my 60's vintage handle bag, and the same shoes from the first outfit.
DIY horse head pendent, and silver tone knot bracelet finish the look.

Of course, red is like camouflage in the current Christmas environment!

Friendly? I hope! Funny blow up Christmas yard decoration

Happy holidays!
