Shoes for transitioning to fall

I'm not really ready to transition to fall quite yet, but in the interest of being prepared...

Revved up red-I love it!

Red is my favorite accent color, so I'm glad to see Grenadine Red is a Pantone pick this fall,
because that means there are lots of red shoe options available this season

First up, are these adorable twisted strap flats

Another great pair of flats are a classic pointed toe style with a 50's vibe, revived in red

Block heels continue to trend
Here's a standout wooden heel design

Lush textures continue to rule, and I'm seeing lots of suede

This pair of open toe, perforated sling backs is in a great transitional neutral style

I will be wearing sandals well into October, so these sturdy options fit the bill, for me
A braided suede strappy style in denim blue

and straps and studs in a muted blue-grey

Tan or Butterum, is another Pantone pick this fall, and always great for the season

A darker rust, in a wedge heel slide, is another perfect fall color pick

For cooler days, when it's time to cover those toes, a suede lace up wedge heel,

or a classic two toned spectator pump, updated in this season's burgundy (a.k.a. Tawny Port)

Lastly, (and I don't know why I put these two unrelated shoe styles in one photo)

A totally different style of pump with a square toe and terrific reptile embossing
Shown along with Jeffery Campbell's Ballet Slipper Pink suede mules-
such a soft and beautiful treat for your feet!

I hope you find the shoes of your dreams out there waiting for you!

Jumpsuit Love

I've had a jumpsuit thing going on this summer
They come and go, in various incarnations, so some seasons they are in short supply
This season, however, they have really taken off, and so many cute option are available
I have been mixing these up since early spring.

The neckline of this first jumpsuit can be worn off-the-shoulder or up,
and the solid color is a great blank canvas for jewelry and accessory options
I love the roomy, comfortable fit and the ultra soft light wash denim

Cropped jumpsuit with bow tie sleeves

with pink handle bag and delicate gold tone jewelry

Vintage pink print headscarf
and taupe lace up wedges finish this look

After purchasing this jumpsuit from Old Navy,
I saw it used in one of their advertising campaigns
I thought I would see it coming and going on lots of other women all summer long,
but I haven't seen it on anybody else, so far.

Navy and white vertical striped jumpsuit with sash belt, worn over a ruffled sleeve tee

with a quilted denim clutch, red head scarf and Betsy Johnson bee earrings

Woven red platform sandals to complete the look

This last jumpsuit is the most versatile of the three and I have worn it several ways, already
It lends itself to layering very well.  I love it when that happens!

Black and white polka dot "V" neck jumpsuit over a white tee
 with eyelet trimmed sleeves

Worn with a wide pink belt with silver tone choker and bracelet

Straw block heeled sandals and a nautical striped and pink clutch
finish the look

What's your favorite summer style?

The closet editing adventure continues...

In my continuing effort to edit my closet, here are some more things leaving this summer.
I have been taking a good hard look at what I actually wear vs. what is stuffing my closet.

Here are some skirts that have been hanging around
that get passed over time and again

Daisy print lace midi

Two maxi skirts
I must face the fact that as much as I love the idea of a flowing maxi in the summertime
 I just don't wear them

A few accessories that have been replaced,
but I have a hard time letting go

Sandals that are great looking but too high

Some tops that still have their hanger's turned backward
and haven't been considered all season
I have gotten pretty good wear from all of them, they just don't feel like me anymore,
so time to say good bye

I wear dresses a lot, but these keep getting passed over, for one reason or another.
Most of them have been in my wardrobe for a long time, so the fit and style is off for me, now

I like this jumpsuit, I'm into them this summer, but this one just does't fit well

same with these print crops

I am donating some of these things, consigning some
and I have started a Poshmark closet for the better brand items
@uweariwear, if anyone is interested

I hope they all find new homes with someone who loves them
and I hope your closet edits are going well!

Neutral about olive

Olive is not my favorite color, but I do wear it occasionally.
It is such a good neutral, and mixes well with so many colors,
both warm and cool toned and works really well with denim.

This post features some outfits with the color olive I have worn through the summer season
July, June and May, respectively.

I like this dress a lot, even though it's olive.
It has two pockets and a sash belt that can be tied in a big bow,
two of my favorite features on a garment!

Worn with a gold metallic clutch, DIY bronze tone leaf necklace,
and a wide elaborately designed bronze cuff bracelet.

Add my favorite Calvin Klein wedge platforms-of-great-comfort,
and I'm good to go!

In June, I wore these utilitarian olive skinny pants
dressed up with a fancy blouse with pretty details.
The blouse is made of two layers of sheer floral fabric and has bell sleeves
and an ecru lace yolk neckline.  Lots of bells and whistles for one garment!

Worn with a blush belt, gold tone open bracelet
and delicate drop earrings

Chunky heeled lace up sandals to finish.

Lastly, back in May, I worn this olive, double breasted cutaway jacket
with a vintage Express denim pencil skirt.

Accessorized with a bronze cuff bracelet and mixed metal eagle necklace

Studded tan booties with a western feel and mini saddle bag to finish the look
