Hello, and thanks so much for stopping by my blog today
I hope those of you who celebrate, enjoy a happy
Memorial Day holiday this upcoming long weekend!
This year, as in the past,
I am dressing in the colors of the holiday
I usually wear at least one red, white and blue outfit
around all of the patriotic summer holidays
This has been a tradition for me for many years
How about you,
do your outfits reflect the colors of holidays?
This year, for one of my Memorial weekend outfits,
I am going to wear this navy blue jumpsuit
I bought it at a consignment shop
It called out to me and seemed such a perfect fit,
when I tried it on
I am not sold on practically completely undressing
to go to the loo, but I'm going to give
this jumpsuit a try today,
to see how easy it is to get in and out of!
Wearing the sleeveless jumpsuit
with a red and white striped lightweight ribbed
sweater underneath
My bag is new, I received it for Christmas last year
I love it so much and think it will really work well
with my existing wardrobe, since I wear these colors often
It is a quality leather bag from Radley of London,
a bit of a splurge, but it was a gift
For jewelry I am wearing a rose and yellow gold wrap bracelet, and gold tone circle earrings
Also, one of my favorite
vintage '60s pieces, an apple pendant that is reversible
It is red enamel with a little black and white
ladybug on one side...
and on the other side,
it flips to the apple cut in half,
complete with rhinestone seeds
So cute and clever!
I didn't really have the right shoes for this outfit
I have all of my sandals and summer shoes out now,
but none seemed right with the dark navy
I tried my white lace sneakers but the pants are too long
I went with these cognac woven slides-
(I see a shoe hole that needs to be filled
in my wardrobe),
or possibly if this jumpsuit works out,
I well hem the pant length
Sprouting herbs indoors for summer salads
I very rarely make a mention of politics in this happy space,
but this is such a terrible time in our nation's history,
and it is hard to keep a brave face,
and celebrate what should be a joyful time
This weekend is the unofficial beginning
of the summer season,
as well as a day for
respecting and remembering those
members of the military who have lost their lives
in service to our country
The current regime is way more than demoralizing to me,
and huge embarrassment
to the liberal minded citizens of this country
Worldwide citizens,
please believe me, we are not all like this!
I long for peace and the end of the destructive
cult in power,
and senseless war with Iran-
please join me in my wish for peace ☮️
