Summer Citrus Stripes

Hello, and thanks for stopping by my blog!

Today, I'm feeling the need for a Dopamine boost
It has been very hot and humid,
and I have been wearing a lot of white
during the heat wave, so bright and stripe-y it is!

I am not sure why stripes
suddenly took off like a shot a few seasons ago
They are a classic pattern that never goes out of style,
and is always in the background of every season

Stripes started showing up in a lot of different
color and design ways, and are still going strong
I think it may have started back when the preppy vibe
came in, with the reset and return to basics

Anyway, I love all the stripes, how about you?

There are so many ways to wear them,
 and types to choose from
Bright, bold casual stripes, soft subtle pinstripes,
and everything in between!
Stripes are also a great way to balance your proportions
if you are inclined to do so

I am glad to see more and more individual style reigning,
I think it is such a good turn,
as the fashion cycle has become so fast and frantic!

Anyway, I am wearing a bright and cheerful,
multicolored dress, with various widths of stripes
in some great citrusy summer colors
I was attracted to the unusual undulating design
and color mix of the pattern
Wearing a shiny white bow blouse
with little sheer, fluttery cap sleeves underneath

I guess you could consider this
striped navy blue and white clutch bag
a pattern mix in a way,
a striped pattern, mixed with another striped pattern,
does that count?

Orange is a great summer color,
and the major hue in the scheme of this dress,
so I chose an orange enamel buckle bracelet,
to complement it
Also, wearing white enamel flower shaped
 post earrings for jewelry

Since this outfit has a bright theme,
I chose shiny white patent leather
fisherman style kitten heels for shoes

Below is a blooming cactus flower in a neighbor's yard
These are unusual around here and as you might know,
they only bloom for a couple of days out of the year
But when they bloom, they certainly are spectacular!

Hope you are all having a wonderful summer!
