Hello and welcome, thanks for stopping by my blog!
Peplum styles have been having a bit of a fashion comeback
for the past few seasons, as part of the Y2K renaissance
I remember this style had a more recent comeback in the 2010's as well,
in more polished business and business-casual wear
Are you a fan of the peplum?
I have noticed some very dramatic peplum silhouettes recently, a lot in formal wear,
on fancy dresses and gowns, as well as on more casual pieces,
so I think this style will be on the fashion radar for a while
The tops pair very nicely with high waisted pants and skirts, too
The two blouses I am wearing this week are soft and casual, and very easy to wear
Both looks are in predominantly summery shades of blue and white
For my first outfit, I am styling a blouse I wore earlier this season
in a post about another current fashion trend, the square neckline
This time I paired the top with my favorite high waisted white denim jeans
I chose some fun, lighthearted and colorful jewelry to compliment this outfit
A turquoise expansion bracelet, and two special vintage pieces
A silver plated butterfly necklace from the 1970's,
and a pair of 3-D aqua enamel flower shaped earrings with rhinestone centers from the 50's
Wearing a yummy color turquoise silk scarf in my hair
White block heel braided band sandals to finish the outfit
A different outfit in mostly white with blue with touches of coral
The top is a soft ivory color with fluttery cap sleeves
and a drawstring tie waist forming the peplum
Worn with a stylized floral print skirt of turquoise, mint green and white
with touches of coral
Aqua and mint green are such quintessential summer colors,
so I chose three pieces of jewelry in these shades to complement this look
and the colors in the skirt
A necklace of irregular chunky pieces of faux turquoise,
a pair of aqua flower shaped earrings and silver tone and mint enamel bangle bracelet
This bag doesn't get much use,
so this seemed like the perfect outfit to get it out of the closet
It coordinates so well with the coral in my skirt and hair scarf
A much loved vintage scarf with an exotic bird and flower print
that belonged to my grandmother in my hair
A sunflower for you!
Hope everyone is enjoying their summer and the week!

I typically don't choose peplums when shopping because they have to hit me at the right spot of the waist for me to like them. I do love these two: very flattering.

Both of these peplum tops look great on you how you styled them. Isn't the turquoise + red combination fun? And of course combining blue and white is so wonderfully summery! I definitely like peplum tops as long as they are not too big or hit at a funny spot (which can be an issue). I only own a couple of them but do like how they can work with both pants and skirts easily.
I wish peplum were flattering on me! But I am a rectangle and it just accentuates the fact I have no waist. Boo. Love how this style looks on you though. Your purse and bag look so nice together in the second outfit! They really caught my eye!
I love a peplum top! Two lovely outfits. I love how your coral bag highlights the coral in your scarf and skirt. Have a great weekend!
I love a good peplum and still have a few peplum pieces in my wardrobe that I just can't part with - like you say I'm sure (I hope!) that the style will be around for a while. I like both outfits but the second one is my favourite. I struggle a little with peplum tops and skirts but you just look so effortlessly perfect in that last outfit, the pieces work so well together :)
