To the Max(i)!

Hello, welcome and thanks for stopping by my blog!

Today, I have two long dresses to share with you
I rarely wear a maxi length dress unless the event requires it,
but they are so popular now, and in keeping with the always in style boho summer vibe

There are some really cute casual maxi dresses and skirts trending now-
the denim maxi skirt has been a surprise hit this summer
How about you, are you a maxi girl?

Both of my outfits for today's post are quite dressy,
and neither of them spend much time out of the closet!
I have had both of these in my wardrobe for three or four years
and have only worn each of them a few times
I have thought about consigning them,
but as soon as I delete a special occasion piece from my wardrobe,
along comes a need for it,
and I have to scramble to find something appropriate to wear
These tow have made the cut, at least until the end of the summer season

I do love a floral print, and the absolute explosion
of large, exotic multicolor flowers on this first  dress
Of the two, this one is probably the most adaptable
Technically a guess it is considered more of a high-low hem than a true maxi

Carrying a silver washed metallic foldover clutch

Blinging it up with lots of rhinestones for a wedding
A vintage expandable bracelet ringed with three rows of rhinestones,
A collar necklace with a bow shape in rhinestones,
and star shaped stud earrings with rhinestone centers

Nude ankle strap wedge sandals to finish the outfit
Wedges are life savers for outdoor events!

Lots of color in this maxi dress that is a long solid column of coral!
I broke up the column of coral with an aqua scarf
tied as a wide obi style belt at my waist

I was considering lopping the hem off this dress to make it midi or knee length
and more versatile, but that might look weird because of the mid-calf lining

Coral and aqua are such yummy colors together

To enhance to summery vibe,
I chose a necklace with large faux turquoise stones,
a double dolphin🐬 hinged bracelet
and hand crafted silver bird earrings

Carrying my round wicker sea shell embellished handle bag

I chose these tan braided wide strap slides to finish the look

This is the only true floor length maxi dress in my closet,
and I think this is the last time I wore it-in the summer of 2021

Summer blooms-
Rose of Sharon and Daisies

Hope everyone has a wonderful week!

Why wait for a special event to wear these dresses? Especially the floral print one is wearable for any sunny day. Or even a autumn day with boots! I think that dress looks stunning!

I can definitely understand why you have held on to these dresses even though you don't wear them often. They are gorgeous, fit perfectly, and look great on you...which could be a challenge to achieve if suddenly shopping for a quickly approaching special event! Like Nancy, I wonder whether you could dress them down for daily wear, but I also think it's perfectly OK to reserve a few items in your closet for special occasions.

I have tried maxi skirts (more casual, not dressy special occasions where a floor length dress is required) and just don't love them on me so I steer clear. Now the high-low hem on the floral dress might work...but actually, the one high-low hem skirt I have I wear sideways to create an asymmetric hem, so maybe not, haha! I like the look on others but have accepted that maxis are not my style.

I absolutely love the aqua belt you added to the maxi dress! I think you should wear both of these more often. They are great on you! Maybe you could dress them down with a denim jacket and sneakers to get more use from them?

I love coral and turquoise together so I am really loving the 2nd outfit! I really do like maxis and am always on the lookout to add another one to my closet.

That second dress is the most amazing coral. I love it. You really gave it some impact with the blue contrast.
Like you I rarely wear maxis. I bought one this summer for a wedding, it's more the high to low length you describe. I may wear it again today for a ballet! Thanks for linking and hope you have a good weekend

That coral dress is just perfect the way it is. And you are right: it is a perfect much with turquoise or blue. Bit jealous got to admit. Just stopped by from Nancy's link-up

Both of these maxi dresses are stunning on you! I love how you can never overdress or underdress when you're wearing a maxi dress, they are perfect for so many occasions! I really like maxis for everyday, as well as special events. I agree these are definitely keepers :)
